Grievance & Complaints

The Global Battery Alliance (GBA) provides a grievance and complaints mechanism so that any stakeholder can raise concerns related to GBA programmes, assurance activities, sustainability claims, and the conduct of GBA members and partners. The full policy is available here.


Who can submit a complaint?

Anyone can submit a complaint, including individuals, communities, companies, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders. Complaints may also be submitted anonymously.


What can you raise?

You may raise concerns about:

  • GBA standards, policies, or processes
  • Assurance or verification activities
  • Sustainability claims
  • Misconduct or non-conformance
  • Impacts on people or the environment

How the process works

All complaints are registered and handled as cases. The process includes:

  1. Acknowledgement and case registration
  2. Screening and assignment
  3. Assessment and investigation
  4. Outcome and communication
  5. Follow-up and closure

Appeals may be requested where applicable.


Confidentiality and protection

GBA protects confidentiality where requested and prohibits retaliation against complainants or anyone supporting a grievance.
